VERDI MASTERPIECES
PERFORMED BY ARENA DI VERONA ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS CONDUCTED BY JAN LATHAM-KOENIG
This sparkling concert celebrates Giuseppe Verdi’s great genius, exploring his entire repertoire of arias and duets. In the world of opera, Verdi is recognised as the leading composer of nineteenth-century Italian opera and universally admired for a richness and depth of dramatic characterisation in musical expression, an innovation with which he transformed traditional Italian opera. His layered musical storytelling shaped the Romantic period, offering a legacy of some of the most beautiful pages of music ever written. Singers from those performing in Rigoletto are accompanied by the Orchestra and Chorus of Fondazione Arena di Verona and the Omani Opera Choir Group with conductor Jan Latham-Koenig.
