ABSTRACT ART COMPETITION​

What is Abstract Art?

Abstract art portrays what an artist feels and thinks, rather than what an artist sees. It does not represent images of our everyday world. An abstract artist uses colours, lines and shapes to express their emotions and ideas.

Use your imagination to create a piece of artwork that is abstract and original, inspired by one of the following pieces of music:

The guidelines for submission for the Abstract Art Competition are as follows:

 

1. It can be on any material (canvas, paper, etc)

2. The size must be limited to 30 cm x 30 cm

3. You can submit the artwork it directly at Box Office before 17th November 2019

4. We need the following information with each submission:

              - Name of student

              -Date of Birth

              -Name of School

              -Place of Origin

              -Contact information (e-mail and phone number)

The competition is open to 6 to 12 year olds in all public and private schools of Oman. Students are invited to submit handcrafted artwork of Abstract Art (non-realistic, non-descriptive Art).

 

The most interesting works of art will be displayed in an exhibition during The Power of Imagination Open House. Three students with the best artwork will be rewarded with two tickets for any concert during the current season, as well as a special gift.

SCIENCE POEM COMPETITION​

Are you the next Da Vinci?

 

Can a scientist be an artist? Can an artist be a scientist? Leonardo Da Vinci was best known for his paintings but he was also an engineer and inventor 500 years ago! How can Da Vinci inspire you?

 

Write a poem inspired by a scientist, or a scientific discovery or invention.

 

Create something original and unprecedented. The competition is open to 8 to 14 year olds in all public and private schools of Oman. Students are invited to submit a poem of 5 to 30 lines in Arabic or English.

 

The most interesting poems will be displayed during The Science of Music Open House and the young poets will be invited to recite their poems. The three winners will be rewarded with two tickets for any concert during the current season, as well as a special gift.

 

 

Age: 8-14 years
