MARCELO ÁLVAREZ
Internationally recognised as one of the most important tenors in the world of opera today, Argentinian singer Marcelo Álvarez is also a popular interpreter of tango as well as of Spanish and Italian traditional songs. Álvarez is acclaimed especially for his interpretation of belcanto and spinto roles and performs in major opera houses and concert halls around the world. Since the beginning of his career in 1994, he has won many prestigious awards and maintained an active touring schedule with debuts in thirty-four roles, including at top venues such as New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Zurich Opera House, and the National Theatre Munich. Álvarez performs with the renowned PKF-Prague Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Leoš Svárovský . Joining them on stage are the formidable internationally acclaimed pianist, Andrew von Oeyen and the rising star, soprano Marina Monzó.
