A beautiful classical ballet about a young princess, awaiting her betrothed’s return from battle, struggling to ward off the passionate attentions of an unwanted suitor. The ballet is performed with a vast cast from the Bolshoi, one of the oldest, most esteemed ballet company in the world, founded in Moscow in 1776. Based on a medieval legend, the fantastic tale features dreams, kidnappings, and joyous releases. Central to the magnificence of the ballet is the complex and varied role of the ballerina, and the dramatic conflict between the male roles of the refined and classical Jean de Brienne and the passionate Abderakhman. Raymonda is set to original choreography signed by the legendary Marius Petipa.
