DON PASQUALE
OPERA BY GAETANO DONIZETTI

Opera by Gaetano Donizetti PERFOMED BY MADRID PILHARMONIC OTRCHESTRA and 1685 CHOIR OF THE GIUSEPPE VEDRI CONSERVATORY OF RAVENNA CONDUCTED BY FRANCESCO LANZILLOTTA

A very funny comic opera from Donizetti: a moralistic tale showing why old men shouldn’t marry young wives! With a stellar cast directed by Andrea De Rosa in period setting with fabulous costumes, Don Pasquale urges his heir to marry the wealthy bride of his choosing, casting off Ernesto when he refuses. Ernesto is deeply in love with the beautiful but poor Norina. Malatesta, the doctor, fools the old man into marrying Norina himself, whereupon she becomes the bride of nightmares. The exciting line up of artists includes Ambrogio Maestri as Don Pasquale, Marco Ciaponi as Ernesto, Sara Blanch as Norina, and Davide Luciano as Malatesta.
