Plácido Domingo has fashioned an exciting programme of romanzas, duets and trios in the Spanish popular tradition of zarzuelas: operetta-like musical plays that combine music, prose and dance. One of the greatest artists of his era, Plácido Domingo reinterprets the best of a beloved repertoire, and further enriches it with the special participation of Compañía Antonio Gades, a company that plays a key role in Spanish dance and flamenco. As the star singer, Plácido Domingo shares the stage with Grammy award winning Ana Maria Martinez, and leading tenor Arturo Chacón Cruz, winner of the 2005 Operalia competition. The orchestra of the renowned Fondazione Arena di Verona performs under the baton of Spanish conductor, Jordi Bernàcer.
