SWAN LAKE

performed by The State Opera and Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera”

The ballet troupe of the State Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera" presents a ballet to the music of the brilliant composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake". Choreography by Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov. New choreographic version by Altynai Asylmuratova - Artistic Director of the ballet troupe of the theater "Astana Opera" , People’s Artist of Russia. Celebrated as the greatest achievement of nineteenth-century classicism, Swan Lake is among the most famous and best-loved ballets of all time. Composed by the great master Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the incomparably beautiful score is performed by the world-class Orchestra of Teatro Carlo Felice of Genova, conducted by Giuseppe Acquaviva. The distinctive style of this exceptional production emerges in brilliant choreography, atmospheric sets and evocative period costumes. The lake on which a graceful white swan swims in daylight was formed by a mother’s tears when her beautiful daughter, Odette, was cursed by a sorcerer and changed into a swan. As night falls, Odette returns to her human self. The evil spell will be broken if a prince swears eternal fidelity to Odette.
