The Royal Opera House Muscat was delighted to host two special evenings with the acclaimed Lebanese performer, Marcel Khalife accompanied by his son, composer Rami Khalife, for a unique concert titled “Homage to Palestine” at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts.
The legendary performer Marcel Khalife is a renowned singer, songwriter and oud player known for his unique style, blending traditional Arabic techniques with his own innovative approach. His beautiful voice as well as his politically charged lyrics have resonated with people around the world for generations. His appeal, rooted in its ability to address contemporary issues such as justice, freedom and love, has inspired social change, making his music timeless. Following in his father's footsteps, Rami Khalife’s style is defined by a bold and eclectic musical journey, adding a new dimension to the family legacy. Together, they shared the stage, blending piano and oud in a captivating display of intergenerational talent and collaboration.
For two nights only, Marcel Khalife performed at the Royal Opera House Muscat in a special concert in tribute to the Palestinian people. Sought after across the Middle East, his concerts in Muscat will include the performance of some of his most famous songs including Rita w'al-Bunduqiya (Rita and the Rifle), Ya Sari Min Jadhum, Oh The Breeze of The Wind and Al Hanna.
In homage to Palestine, the two concerts served as a poignant tribute, carrying a noble message. Through the universal language of music, Khalife strives to forge a bridge that resonates deeply with audiences worldwide, fostering understanding and solidarity.
