A beautiful classical ballet about a young сountess' niece, awaiting her betrothed’s return from battle, struggling to ward off the passionate attentions of an unwanted suitor. The ballet is performed with a vast cast from the Bolshoi, the very best ballet company in the world. Based on a medieval legend, the fantastic tale features dreams, kidnappings, and joyous releases. Central to the magnificence of the ballet is the dramatic conflict between the male roles, the refined and classical Jean de Brienne and the passionate Abderakhman. At the heart of this dispute – Raymonda, complex and varied role of the ballerina. The last ballet of legendary Marius Petipa which is performed on the Bolshoi’s stage in choreography version of Yuri Grigorovich.
