With direction by Franco Zeffirelli, ROHM’s exceptional new production of Rigoletto is the final piece of his legacy. The ironic story of a cruel court jester who becomes a victim of his own crimes, laying bare the harsh challenges of the father-daughter relationship, this masterpiece demonstrates Verdi’s astonishing brilliance in characterisation and musical tapestries. Period costumes created by thrice award-winning designer Maurizio Millenotti enhance the production. With lead singers including Ambrogio Maestri (Rigoletto), Dmitry Korchak (Duke of Mantua), Giuliana Gianfaldoni (Gilda) and Ricardo Zanellato (Sparafucile), the orchestra and choir of Fondazione Arena di Verona performs along with the Omani Opera Choir Group under the baton of Jan Latham-Koenig.
