AN EVENING OF RUSSIAN FOLK MUSIC

Experience the unique and unmistakable sound of Russian folk instruments, presented by this world-famous orchestra, one of the brightest phenomena of Russian art. Founded in 1919, by prominent balalaika and domra players Boris Troyanovsky and Pyotr Alexeyev, the orchestra has impressed audiences around the world for over a century with its repertoire, ranging from simple folk song arrangements to reimagined symphonic works from celebrated classical composers. With a sound rooted in cultural tradition, the concert features prominent soloists Sofia Onopchenko (folk singing), Albina Degtyareva (Yakut jaw harp) and Arslan Umurzakov (qurai).
