OPEN HOUSE- TANGO CLASS

March 2 and 3, 2018

Tango originated in Argentina and Uruguay in the early 1900’s and has become one of the world’s most popular and successful dances. It is a beautiful and elegant dance that everyone can learn and enjoy, regardless of dance experience.
You can learn how to dance the Tango!

The ROHM offers, for the first time, a Tango Class which will take place on the bright marble floor of the South Porch, with Giorgia and Marcelo Guardiola, two great tango dancers who will perform in the Recital CanTango on March 3rd, 2018.

 

The Tango Class will be divided into two groups, (maximum 30 people per group).

 

Group A – intermediate & advanced

March 2, Friday: 4:00 to 5:30 pm

March 3, Saturday: 10:00 to 11:30 am

Group B – beginner

March 2, Friday: 6:00 to 7:30 pm

March 3, Saturday: 12:00 to 1:30 pm

 

Enrollment Deadline: 10th February, 2018 (no registration fee)

Individuals or couples can enroll on or by 10th February, filling the application form below.

Please note that number of participants is limited and will be enrolled according to the date of application.  The Tango Class is a free-ticketed event.

 

Participants to the Tango Class (in a group of 10 or more) will receive 30% discount on the Recital Cantango with tenor Fabio Armiliato on March 3rd, 7.30 pm

Among the most contemporary tango artists, Marcelo Guardiola and Giorgia Marchiori are one of the most loved and admired couples. They have performed in theatres and festivals all over the world.

Marcelo Guardiola is an actor, dancer, musician and stage director. Born in Buenos Aires, he created a form of theatrical research in 1999 called TangoTeatro, which proposes a new form of entertainment staging poetry through mime and tango-dance.

Born in Rome, Giorgia Marchiori is a dancer, actress, and choreographer and has a degree in philosophy. In 2003 she began her artistic collaboration with Marcelo Guardiola, establishing the duo “Los Guardiola". Its originality consists of telling stories through the fusion of mime and dance.

In 2004, for their excellency as tango dancers, they were awarded the “Diploma of Honour New Generation”, and were declared of cultural interest by the Secretary of Culture of the Argentine Presidency. In 2016 the Argentine National Academy of Tango awarded them as "Artists of Tango advancing tango-culture".

Authors and performers of all their shows, in 2016 they premiered "Los Guardiola Tango Show" in the celebrated Teatro Maipo in Buenos Aires. They have performed their wordless art in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, England, France, Italy, Qatar, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland.
