Give Blood Save Lives
The Royal Opera House Muscat announces the 2020 blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Department of Blood Banks Services. On 4th March donations can be made from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the South Porch at the opera house (southern entrance at ROHM).
With increasing popularity and an amazing response from the community, the opera house strives to raise the profile of blood donation throughout the region. Year on year the numbers who commit to donating precious blood increase during the campaign. This essential act of charity provides hospitals with the resources to
save lives. Blood is used during complex medical procedures, in blood transfusions needed as a result of medical conditions and in the event of blood loss through road traffic and other accidents. Hospitals across are Muscat facing shortages in blood bank stocks.
Don't be scared of giving blood.
The procedure is simple and only takes up a tiny portion of your day, less perhaps than a gym workout. You can expect to be welcomed by medical staff and directed to a testing station where a quick pin prick test will assess your iron levels. This screening process can alert you to your own need for further assessment, a personal benefit of volunteering to make this donation. If you are assessed as fit to donate, you will then be led to a screened private area and made comfortable while your gift of blood is taken.
Momentarily painful, this short and simple procedure will without question go towards saving someone's life. A small price to pay don't you think? It takes a moment of bravery to be this person. In times when life can feel short and precious, in a world where it is hard to see how you can make a difference, join us at the opera house to give blood.
Do something that can really make a difference.
